MARKET took place for the first time in February 2006 at the initiative of a group of gallerists looking to create a high quality fair in central Stockholm. In 2007 the organisation of the fair was taken over by Konstmässan Market i Stockholm AB.The fair puts Swedish and Nordic galleries in the spotlight and participants show a wide selection of the most exciting international contemporary art. The presence of galleries based outside of Sweden has increased every year and the fair has been very well received by collectors, visitors and press.

For over 270 years the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts has promoted the role of art and architecture in Swedish society. Through its cooperation with the Academy, MARKET anchors the forward looking art scene in a rich artistic tradition. MARKET strives to be the best possible meeting place for galleries and the art-interested public. The fair’s vision is to be the Nordic art scene’s premier fair.

Participants in MARKET are chosen based on, among other things, track record and exhibited artists. The number of exhibitors is currently limited to 32. For more information regarding the application process, please contact us: info@market-art.se.
