Sunna has an extremely broad expressive range, from delicate and dream-like paintings to funny and strange works which can be both subtle and uncanny at the same time. The figures in her paintings express something profoundly essential about the human condition. Mari Sunna is an internationally recognized painter, whose work has been displayed in various international solo and group exhibitions. Her recent joint exhibitions include Icons, Maison Particulière, Brussels; Don’t Shoot the Painter, Galleria d’Arte Moderna, Milan; The Milky Way 2, Fondazione Pianoterra Onlus, Rome and Dark Days, Bright Nights, Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas City. Alongside private and public Finnish collections, her works are included in, among others, the Saatchi Collection, the Deutsche Bank Collection, the French State Collection and various private collections in Europe and the United States.
